To explain a bit about my background, I was previously a British Army Paratrooper and from there went on to be a city lawyer. I’ve always sought to understand things and I’ve always looked for practical and pragmatic solutions. For me, understanding alcohol and addiction was key to getting free. One of the main reasons for this is that when we fully understand alcohol’s effects on us, we start to understand that a lot of the beliefs we have about alcohol are false. Beliefs like needing alcohol to have a good time, to socialise, to relax, to cope with the stresses and strains of life generally. If you can reverse these beliefs you can end the desire to drink, which in turn ends the addiction.
This is what Alcohol Explained and Alcohol Explained 2 are all about; setting the record straight. They provide a scientific, practical and pragmatic analysis of what alcohol really does for us, and what it doesn’t do for us, all set out in an easy to understand way.
The first 5 chapters of Alcohol Explained can be found on the website (www.alcoholexplained.com) along with various other resources.
