Well-being in the Workplace

Take on The Sober Experiment as a team as a well-being activity that brings you closer together – without booze.

Our three-hour interactive session delivers everything your employees need to know about alcohol and we will actively encourage your employees to take on a 30 day supported sobriety experiment.

89,000 people across the UK are turning up to work every day with a hangover! That’s 1 in 10 people twice a week!

Drinkaware surveyed more than 1,000 adults and found that almost one in 10 people go to work suffering from the effects of too much alcohol at least twice a week. With hundreds of thousands of people going to work every day after a heavy night, it impacts work productivity and can often result in employees going home sick. Often, people are unaware of how much they are actually drinking, and the impact it may be having.

The estimated cost of alcohol related absence to the UK economy is £1.4bn per year!

By giving your employees the facts about how alcohol might be affecting their behaviour and performance both in and out of work, we can encourage them to make better choices about their drinking – helping you create a healthier, happier and more productive workplace. We will actively encourage your employees to take on a 30 day supported sobriety challenge. Your employees will receive a completion certificate at the end of the challenge and the results in the workplace will speak for themselves.

For every 10 employees, we could save you over £6800 per year!

Our fun, informative and interactive session delivers everything your employees need to know about alcohol – we will share our own story along with an explanation of units and drink strength, we will help your employees see the impact of alcohol on health and well-being at work and provide impartial advice to help them make better choices about their drinking.

1 in 4 people in the UK experience mental health problems each year and alcohol is adding to the problem!

Work-related stress, anxiety and depression are contributing factors and many people drink to alleviate and cope with this. Normalising drink cultures in the workplace has been cited as one of the reasons to drink more frequently. Employers have a duty of care to promote health and well-being, amongst their workforce and we can help!

Fuller Research group

Our People initiatives for 2020 are focused around making sure our team are thriving, both in and outside of the office. We decided to get The Sober Experiment in to talk to our team to give them an insight into how alcohol can affect their behaviour and performance, and how we can make better choices.

The feedback from the session has been wonderful, with many of our team taking up their 30 Day Sober Challenge, which is offered as part of their package!

Lisa and Alex are informative and brutally honest about their past relationship with alcohol, which means people can easily relate. If your focus is on Employee Wellbeing get them in to speak to your team!

This charity is close to both of our hearts and we are over the moon that we can help! The Sober Experiment donates 10% of all profits made to Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics), a registered charity founded in 1990 to address the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood.
Nacoa has four broad aims:
To offer information, advice and support to children of alcohol-dependent parents
To reach professionals who work with them
To raise their profile in the public consciousness
To promote research into the problems they face and the prevention of alcoholism developing in this vulnerable group!
We really are so excited about this and have mega exciting stuff coming up to raise money for them, so please keep those bright eyes peeled!
