We are an IPHM accredited training provider and work with groups of people in the workplace and in the community using our 90-minute interactive presentation to deliver large and small group workshops.
Now, we know there are already amazing services like yourselves for people with high alcohol dependency, but The Sober Experiment can help to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and the outside world. We know that Leaving rehab is an exciting time, however, it can also mean facing a number of challenges. Feeling some trepidation at the thought of leaving rehab is perfectly natural and The Sober Experiment will give residents something to focus on.
Returning home usually means having to face familiar stresses. In the past these may have been an excuse for the individual to abuse alcohol and drugs. Just because the individual gets sober does not mean that life will stop happening. In order to deal with these challenges in a healthy manner, the individual will need to develop better coping skills. This is where we come in.
Our brutally honest, fun, informative and interactive session delivers everything residents need to know about alcohol, including activities and take away activities. We will share our own struggles with alcohol and how we overcame dependency and help residents to see the huge impact of alcohol on health and well-being, providing impartial advice to help them make better choices about their drinking when they leave rehabilitation.
Some of the topics covered include:
- Addiction transfer
- Facing triggers
- Living positively in sobriety
- Working with your family
- How to talk to and build bridges with your children
- Building resilience
- How to form lasting connections
- Mindset reset
- Building a new social life/relationships/friendships
The 30-Day Experiment
Each resident will receive our 30-day supported experiment, free of charge. Although many people use this as a tool to help them get sober, we have found that residents find it useful as a focal point for the first month after leaving rehab whilst they adapt to normality.
Each day they will receive an inspirational video via email which and a daily activity designed to change their mindset around drinking.

Sober experiment came in to our rehab (Leigh Bank – Turning Point) to deliver a group to our residents. Both Alex and Lisa were really nice. Very approachable, engaging and knowledgeable. Our residents said they really enjoyed their group and they spoke very positively about them both.
Keep up the good work!
